New Delhi, Nov 28 (IANS) As tens of thousands of farmers from Haryana and Punjab embark on the Delhi Chalo journey and reach the NCR borders, "emergency brakes" had to be applied on the onward journey of another regular lot -- the truck drivers on long hauls.
With the national capital's Tikri border connecting Haryana shut due to agitating farmers against the Centre's three Farm Laws, the truck drivers are facing the brunt
For the past two days most truckers on long distance journeys have been stuck at the borders.
Speaking to IANS, truck driver Rajinder Solanki said, "I have been stuck here since 6 a.m. Friday. I was taking packages to Ahmedabad but got stuck here due to the closure of borders."
He added that he along with other drivers have been instructed not to leave their vehicles.
Another driver, Naresh Kumar said that he was stuck here for last two days as he was to take plastic packages to Rajasthan. "There is no arrangement for food and we are facing a lot of problems due to that," he said.
