Ranchi, July 13 (IANS) Maoist guerrillas blasted a tarred road, a forest guest house and set 13 vehicles on fire in Jharkhand in the last two days, police said.

According to Police, Maoists blew up a tarred road at Khutipani block of West Singhbhum district early on Monday. They used a cylinder bomb to blow up the road.

The guerrillas buried the cylinder bomb inside the road, connected it through a wire and later blasted it. A crater like pit has been formed on the road.

On Sunday, Maoists blew up a forest range guest house at Barakela and set 13 vehicles on fire in the same district.

More than 100 Maoist guerrillas had surrounded the guest house. They also thrashed the forest staff there and held over 20 people including families of the forest staff captive for five hours, police said.
