Historical Event on 10/1/1953
The first new state in India since 1949, Andhra Pradesh, is established on purely linguistic basis and formally inaugurated. This state was created by sub-dividing state of India, Madras Province and this movement was started by Shriramulu for which he had to sacrifice his life.

12/27/1929	Jawaharlal Nehru hoists the national flag at the All India National Congress session held in Lahore. They resolved for ""Purna Swaraj"" (complete independence) on the instance of Gandhiji, the Viceroy of India that time was Lord Irwin.

10/18/1996	Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi to be the venue for the trial of former PM Rao.
9/6/1961	D. N. Kohli was appointed as the Narcotics Commissioner of India. He headed this office till 28-05-1966.
8/27/1958	Metric system of weights and measures introduced.
12/11/1872	Rajkhova Benudhar, modern Assamese poet, was born.
7/20/1680	Chhatrapati Sambhaji was throne.
1/12/1955	Pandit Baburao Vishnu Paradkar, eminent Hindi editor and veteran journalist, passed away.
9/14/1868	Swami Virjanand, Sanskrit grammar litterateur and master, passed away at the age of 90.
8/25/1992	Mi-4 was re-equipped with the mighty Mi-35 Squadron and was renamed as 104-Helicopter Squadron.
