Historical Event on 8/6/1920
Film Censor Board at Bombay started working. The first film censored and granted a Censor Certificate No. 1 was a short film of 600 ft., produced by Gaumont Company and it was titled as 'Gaumont Graphic No. 963-964'. The Regional Film Censor Boards were also set-up in Calcutta, Madras and Rangoon.

11/13/1901	Four Language panels were started on Rs. 10/- notes. First time four corner serial numbers were introduced. This panel had Indian languages which varied from state to state.
5/1/1983	Amravati University established.

8/3/1898	Udayshankar Bhatt, modern Hindi dramatist, poet and novelist, was born.
2/19/1992	Shridhar Narayan Bendre, famous painter, passed away.
1/1/1989	Dinkar Sakrikar, editor of monthly magzine 'Purva' and socialist, passed away.
10/24/1990	BJP-sponsored 'Bharat Bandh' in protest against L. K. Advani's arrest evokeed mixed response.
